Attention to Detail
Hello, friends! Owl Eye here this week with some major support from fellow blog writers Lunar Hades and Ezo. I’m currently en route to the True/False Film Festival in Columbia, MO. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.
While reflecting on the past couple weeks I am awakened to the importance of detail and our attention paid to this. What we put into our world is repaid in kind, and as such with more attention to detail in our projects, our work, our studies come the repayment of rewards.
This week lets ponder the details around us and pay attention to what they hold for us and be guided by some fellow members of the collective and their beautiful attention to detail in this week’s gallery gems.
Gallery Gems
“Peru Mornings on the River” — siftu
Getting lost in a daydream with this collection from siftu. Morning mist, tranquil waters reflecting our subjects, and clouds lightly brushed in. Is this a painting or photo? Siftu brings us 41 images from a trip through Peru in 2019 and I encourage you to click through and view them all along with captions. This photo does not stand alone, but tells a greater story when viewed in the full catalog. Would love to have this set as a booklet.
“Ominous” — orange7161
Not leaving to chance in hiding our sculpture in fog with this photo from orange7161, but rather to capture the delicate balance that splits visible and opaque in twain. Capturing at that crucial moment where both building, and humans, could be lost to the weather if we don’t focus our sights just right.
“Chinatown, SF, Mendocino” — davesunday
Just in time to capture this fish before it surfaces and snaps up the lighted lure, davesunday illustrates a wonderful way to compose for the highlight of a mood with this geometrical street snap in an urban night scene.
Community Collaborations
Daido Royale Pt. 2
The Daido Royale collaboration roared to life this week with many incredible contributions from our members in the theme of are-bure-bokeh. Check out the latest entries in the Collaboration channel:
Just Print It!
“One by One” Vol. 1 — eeenmachine
Our fellow member, eeenmachine sparked a whirlwind of interest in Just Printing It Already this week as they launched their very own zine (booklet) for sale. Joining the ranks of OMS members who have Printed It Already, eeenmachine has also sparked many members to catalyst into the printing game, and it turns out to be less frightening and much easier to accomplish than you may believe! Check out eeenmachine’s limited edition run below and throw a @mention to them or in the General channel for any questions about printing and tap into the knowledgebase.
Fin.
Until next time friends and from all of us at the OMS Blog team: stay focused, active, and attentive to details!
Much love,
