Fifty Mills

A project to document industrial heritage the world over.

A contact sheet from Jake Pink, showcasing a single roll of 12 photos

A project being lead by Jake Pink and Roberto Biondo, the aim is to photography 50 Mills.

With a focus on striking ‘straight’ photography on black and white film. We aim to photograph a wide range of mills, showcase the breadth of the what industrial buildings were used for, and how some of them have been given new life now.

Why 50?

Well, it’s a little bit of a photographers ‘inside joke’, the wide lenses and formats we are using results in using a 50mm lens. A designation of its focal length. Then when abbreviated reads as Fifty Mil’s

When?

The project has already been running for a year now, with about 5 or 6 mills photographed. However we are renewed to make quicker progress going forwards.
