One More Blog: Week of 03/31/2024

Happy Sunday photography friends, I am excited to be here to show off some of my favorite photos for the past week! The first week of April has been rainy and felt like it took an eternity to get through, but these photos helped me keep moving forward.

Gallery Gems

A photo of a person taken through a window sitting in a cafe.

The warm tones and casual atmosphere remind me of the opening scroll of a classic movie, which makes me feel nostalgic and comfortable. Expired film absolutely has a special look every time, and I think this photo embodies those qualities, while also being framed exquisitely. A pixelated image of a church steeple.

While Hot Pink Bulb posted these as part of the 2-Bit Clubhouse collaboration, I think they did an amazing job with this photo outside of that context. It evokes retro horror games, in the best way possible. To imagine the things a talented photographer can do with a Gameboy Camera blows my mind. Please check out more of their work at the website linked below!

A black and white photo of the coast.
Posted by AON in the gallery thread “Malta – Tri X 400”

In addition to this photo being absolutely lovely, it just has me asking so many questions. Questions like “what is that obscured by the fog in the distance?” and “How much of that barrier has been eroded by nature?” and “Doesn’t this feel like the sort of place that a body would be found in a young adult mystery film?” Please check out more of AON‘s work at the Instagram linked below.

A desert road under a blue sky with clouds.

The most defining features in this photo are the amazing blues in the sky, and the incredible grain. This is Eli’s first post in the community and I certainly hope it isn’t the last! I’m so excited to see more work. As others have said, this feels like it should be on a postcard. Check out more of Eli’s work in the Instagram linked below.

The 2-Bit Clubhouse is an incredible collaboration so far, and there have been wonderful and very thought out takes on every day objects or scenes with the Gameboy Camera. The lack of color depth allows the pixels to take on their own life, and it even looks like there’s a face in the wave. Please take a look at Devanopolis’s website below, and check out the 2-Bit Clubhouse collaboration on the Discord.

Moving out of this week and into the next I think I need to hope for two things in particular. The first being that “April showers bring May flowers” and the second being that this community continues being amazing, and continues posting incredible and unique work!

With much love,
Lunar Hades
